Community & Industry Support
General Films has a long history of supporting Covington and the surrounding region. This includes ongoing donations to local organizations such as the Village of Covington, the Covington Exempted Village Schools, Covington Fire and Rescue, Covington-Newberry Historical Society, and many other local organizations. On a national level, General Films regularly supports several organizations, including United Way, The Salvation Army, and The American Red Cross.
From an industry perspective, General Films participates in many state, local, and national organizations to promote manufacturing. GF also maintains active membership in numerous professional organizations within our target markets. Participating in these groups has a wide range of impact aimed at growth, continuing education, safety, sustainability, and other important topics.

Supporting Education
General Films has an ongoing commitment to several higher education institutions to support their campus dairy programs. One example is our relationship with the Berkey Creamery at Penn State University, where we have had an ongoing partnership since 1969. Learn more about the recent donation of a GF Model 34 single-head semi-automatic filler to support their bag-in-box packaging here.

The new filler helps support the dairy operation and also provides students with valuable experience using modern Bag-in-Box filling technology.
“Every time we can put a piece of modern equipment in front of our students and give them hands-on experience, we are preparing them for their careers. General Films is helping us train the next generation of food scientists.”
– Troy L. Ott, Dean, College of Agricultural Sciences, Penn State University
